Much to everyone’s dismay, the only way to gain any sort of improvement is to actively practice whatever you’re trying to improve. While I would love to magically get better at things simply by thinking about them or pinning things to my Pinterest inspo board, eventually I have to hunker down and actually attempt to recreate all those inspirational pins.
One of the skills I wanted to improve during my 6 month ‘Saucy Tart challenge’ is photography. While I’m not a beginner per say, I did own a proper DSLR previously and know the sort of basics of how to use it, I am in no way confident, creative, or capable enough to consider myself a photographer in any sense of the word. I am someone who happens to own an expensive camera and does just barely more than shooting on ‘auto’. I’ve challenged myself to focus more heavily on photography through the month of June, leading up to my birthday, and finishing off with a birthday portrait.
