I've been trying to get better with going places alone that aren't just supermarkets and retail stores. Like craft fairs or framers markets. My husband works on Saturday and I dont have many friends close by. Im tried of doing the same old thing or just spending my day tending to house chores. I look forward to this next chapter of a new type of independence.
As for advice, care less about what other people think of you. Just do the thing!
We’re getting married this summer so it’s a crazy time but you are always inspiring me to get out in the community as much as possible! I’m choosing to do that by volunteering my photography services to small businesses in our area.
I also went overboard with concert tickets for this year 😅 Two music festivals within an hour of my city, Avril Lavigne, Bloodywood, Ice Nine Kills, and then Warped Tour this November for the emo teenager that I once was!
Love following you on IG. Fellow DINK with fur babies!! My husband and I are going to Denmark and Sweden this summer for 2 music festivals! Excited for all the yummy food, culture, art, architecture and connecting with locals!!!
This spring I have spent a lot of time in my back yard, finally installing raised garden beds and getting them filled and planted. I'm so looking forward to seeing what I can grow! I'm also hell bent on extending the well tended part of the yard so that next summer I can put in native grass and flowers to create a tiny habitat for the creatures that need one
I am also embracing a good staycation this summer! I live in New Jersey which has beaches, pinelands, reservoirs, cities, rural areas, you name it, all packed in our tiny state all reachable within an hour or 2 max. Gonna play tourist right here :)
I’ve been falling more and more in love with staycations/driveable vacays- so much less stress and I can bring my pillow ;) sometimes it’s great to be a tourist in your own town! We will definitely be doing some of that, but also just working on getting our yard and garden back to beautiful with much more native plantings. Home is happy. :)
Besides working in our back and front yard, I’m hoping to discover new hiking trails near me, specifically ones near water. I really wanna find some good rockhounding spots and get into that. Pretty sure my spirit animal is a magpie or a raven, I love finding exciting shiny things in the wild 😂
Lately I have had something to do almost every weekend and it can really drain me since I'm working all week. I love when I have nothing to do. I also love checking out all the little free libraries in my neighborhood they always have fun surprises 😊
I too fall victim to too many weekends planned in advance. I've been trying to circumvent that in lieu of spontaneous local adventures but either way an adventure is had. 👏

I’ve been taking myself out to eat every Saturday at local restaurants and it’s been fun so far.
