May has been a whirlwind. From my schedule, to the weather, to the garden, to my own daily existence—I spent the month weeding the yard, and subsequently weeding my life. Digging up the soil and planting new seeds in hopes for a more beautiful garden, literally and metaphorically.
The month started with a big push for my first real market experience. We did two days at a winery for their annual Mothers Day Market and I learned a hard lesson about how I am absolutely not cut out for markets. I felt really lucky to have others around—this market was a joint venture with my community studio and some of the other ‘staff’ and members—as they carried a lot of the conversation with patrons and were excellent salespeople. I know sales requires a bit of pressure and I simply can’t bring myself to do that. Maybe because I don’t appreciate that sort of pressure from others, when I see something I want, I buy it. No sales pitch needed.
